Welcome To St. Laurent Institute
About Us
The St. Laurent Institute focuses on novel Systems Biology and Genomics approaches to
understanding the molecular mechanisms of chronic disease. We use high throughput
technologies such as single molecule transcriptome and epigenome sequencing to decipher
the intricate molecular pathways of these diseases that threaten the lives and health of our
aging populations.

SLI was founded in 2005 as a non-profit medical research institute by Georges St. Laurent,
Jr., an original Board member of the Celera Human Genome Project, and Georges St. Laurent,
III, an accomplished molecular biologist and neuroscientist. SLI’s global research activities
include projects in India, Russia, the Amazonian region of Colombia and Brasil, The People’s
Republic of China, and the United States. SLI maintains research collaborations with
academic investigators at institutions around the U.S.A and the world. Research interests
include the molecular mechanisms of physiological information flow through molecular
networks during stress and disease.
